Zimmerman, Sara Carter

Sara Carter Zimmerman, 82, of Dublin, passed away Monday, November 23, 2015 at Cozy Home Haven in Fairlawn. She was a member of Dublin United Methodist Church. She was born in Richmond, Va. the daughter of the late Thomas and Lola Ward Carter.

She received her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Maryland, majoring in Social Work.

Survivors include her husband, Ronald Dee Zimmerman of Dublin; sons and daughters-in-law, Stanley Jay and Christina Zimmerman of Clayton, N.C., Brian Zimmerman of Dublin, and Mark and Judi Zimmerman of Raleigh, N.C.; grandson, Logan Zimmerman; and granddaughters, Olivia, Nicole, and Ashley Zimmerman.

Memorial services will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, December 5, 2015 at the Dublin United Methodist Church with Rev. Don Hanshew officiating.

The family will visit with friends one hour prior to the service beginning at 2:30 p.m. at the church. After the service there will be a Celebration of Life at the church and casual attire is acceptable.

The family would like to express their thank you to the many staff from Carilion Hospice Care and the loving care Sara received from the staff at Cozy Home Haven.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to their choice of Dublin United Methodist Church or Cozy Home Haven.
