Young, Ralph Allen

Ralph Allen Young, 72, of Radford, passed away Saturday, December 31, 2005. He was a retired Fireman from Radford Arsenal where he worked for 28 years. He was an avid foxhunter for most of his life and will be missed more than words can say.

He was preceded in death by his son, Dale Allen Young, parents, James and Mattie Young, three brothers, Kenneth Young, James Young and Ray Young, and three sisters, Mae Willard, Alice Whitworth and Nettie Dowdy.

Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Edna Q. Young; daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Raymond Epperly; grandchildren, Travis Young and Amanda Epperly; four sisters, Pearl Simmons, Lake Bishop, Mary Akers and Ruby Epperly. Many nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 3, 2006 at Gardner Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Michael Pugh and Reverend Roy Turpin officiating. Interment will follow at Captain George Quesenberry Cemetery.

Friends may call after 1 p.m. Monday at Gardner Funeral Home where the family will be from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Arrangements are being handled by Gardner Funeral Home, Floyd.
