Young, Lois

Lois Young, 74, of Pembroke, departed this life Sunday evening, April 1, 2007 at Pulaski Community Hospital in Pulaski.

Born in Pembroke on June 30, 1932, she was a daughter of the late Togo and Violet Niece Young. She was the beloved matriarch of her family who all called her “Granny”. She was preceded in death by a brother, Jay Young; and two sisters, Corena Griggs and Margaret Ann Snider.

She leaves to cherish her memory a sister, Gladys Hilton of Pembroke; two brothers, Johnny Young of Pembroke and R.H. “Buck” Young and his wife Dorothy of Pembroke; a sister-in-law, Rita Dowdy Young of Pembroke; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the Kendall Funeral Home Chapel at 605 Snidow St. in Pembroke with burial in the Fillinger Cemetery nearby.
