amem_walking.jpgJohn Willard (J.W.)(nee Corbett) Young-Corbett, formerly of Botetourt County, Va., died tragically and unexpectedly on Friday, September 11, 2009. J.W. will be missed by countless friends and family, including his soulmate and wife, Deb Young-Corbett, of Blacksburg; mother and father, Johnie and Melvin Corbett, of Fincastle; and brother and sister-in-law, Kelley and Kathy Corbett, of New York City.

J.W. graduated from James River High School in Botetourt County and Virginia Tech. At the time of his death he worked as a research specialist at Virginia Tech. J.W. was one of the most kind, loving, intelligent, funny, creative, and giving people to ever walk this earth. His absence will leave an irreparable void in the lives of those who knew him.

Two memorial services will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2009. The first service will be held 10 a.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation (UUC) of Blacksburg on 1301 Gladewood Drive, Blacksburg, Va. A reception will follow the memorial service, in the UUC fellowship hall. The second service will be held 4 p.m. at the Fincastle United Methodist Church, 136 S. Church Street, in Fincastle, Va. Dinner reception to follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Humane Society of Montgomery County, 1183 Flanagan Drive, Christiansburg, Va. 24073. Arrangements by Rader Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Daleville, Va.
