Barney McCoy Younce, Jr., age 86 of Roanoke passed away Friday, December 4, 2015 at the Friendship Manor Health & Rehab, Roanoke. Born March 23, 1929 in Russell County, Virginia he was the son of the late Barney McCoy Younce, Sr. & Winnie Sutherland Younce.

His grandson, Jon Lovern, brothers, Robert & Monroe Younce and sister, Corrine Lawing also preceded him in death.

An ex-POW in the Korean War, Barney was retired from the United States Army. He was a past employee of Lynchburg Foundry.

He is survived by his Wife- Mildred Marie Crabtree Younce – Roanoke Son- Barney M. (Debbie) Younce, III – Powhatan, VA Daughters- Regina (Bill) Weddle – Radford Milissa (Bucky) Lovern – Roanoke Elaina (Matthew) Realmuto – Roanoke Grandchildren William H. “Billy” Weddle, Holly Younce, Miranda Dean, Adrienne Parks, Sarah Wolfe Special Grandchildren Chase, Alyssa and Allie Brother- Eugene Younce – Manassas Sisters- Lillian Rhea – Bristol Lorene Senabaugh – Kingsport, TN Many nieces and nephews

Graveside funeral services will be held Thursday, 11:00 A.M., December 10, 2015 in the Highland Memory Gardens, Mausoleum – Dublin with Rev. Brenda Rowe officiating.

Entombment will follow where the Pulaski V.F.W. Post #1184 will conduct military honors.
