She was preceded in death by her husband, James Irving Yates; and her parents, James Cabell Dobbins and Mary Katherine Lawrence Dobbins. Surviving are her sons, Jamey Yates, Check, Va., Charlie Cox, Weserville , Ohio; one sister, Helen Dobbins, Blacksburg, Va.; one sister-inlaw, Lucille Dobbins, Christiansburg, Va.; three grandchildren; six greatgrandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, October 5, 2010, at Stonewall Cemetery with the Reverend Elbert Lee Naff officiating. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
