Yates, Dorothy Conner

Dorothy Conner Yates, 83, of Check, passed away on Friday, October 20, 2006.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Sherman W. Yates; parents, Willard H. and Maude Conner; and her sister, Willie Mae Ratliff. She is survived by three sons and two daughters, Ralph Yates, Barry Yates, David Yates, Carolyn Mills, and Brenda and David Ramsey, all of Check, ten grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; one brother, Bank and Opal Conner of Roanoke; one brother-in-law, Alfred Ratliff of Check; and two sisters-in-law, Jean and Frank Link and Helen Link, all of Check.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, October 23, 2006 at the Salem Church (Head of the River) with Elder Hale Terry and Elder W.T. Conner officiating with interment in Restvale Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 22, 2006 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Wood Funeral Home in Floyd.
