Jeanette Humphrey Yarus, of Dahlgren, VA, 93, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 14, 2014 at her home. Born on May 17, 1921 in Prices Forks (Blacksburg), VA, she is survived by her husband of 65 years, Howard V. Yarus and children: Steve Yarus, Richmond, Joan Yarus, Fredericksburg, Harvey Yarus and his wife Laura, King George,

four grandchildren: Karla Yarus Perry and her husband Joseph; Brooke Yarus Shambley and her husband James; Charles Yarus; Maura Yarus Rawlette and her husband Drexel; two great-grandchildren; Devin Yarus, and Josiah Shambley; four sisters: Elaine Petersen, Mount Vernon, Catherine Humphrey, Pulaski; Sabra Rupe and her husband Theron of Vienna, and Louise Deml and her husband John of Northport, Long Island, NY. Her parents Harry and Lake Humphrey as well as her brother Harry Byrd Humphrey are deceased. Visitation will be held at Nash and Slaw Funeral Home, 11089 James Madison Pkwy., King George, from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, July 20, 2014. The funeral service will be held at Peace Lutheran Church, 10 a.m. Monday, July 21, 2014. There will be a private interment in Quantico National Cemetery.
