Wright, William Russell

William (“Bugs”) Russell Wright, 58, of Bland, VA, passed away Friday, February 4, 2022. He was born June 14, 1963, in Radford, VA, the son of the late Charles Russell & Georgia Lee Francis Wright.

Rusty was very intelligent and loved to read, loved history and keeping up with the daily news. He was a member of the Wilderness Lighthouse Church of the Lord Jesus Christ and faithfully read his bible daily. He loved all animals, especially his cats. He was a faithful member of the “Old Crows Coffee Crew” at Wright Automotive and was the official coffee maker. Rusty lived life to the beat of his own drum, but had a positive influence on many who he was in contact with. He will be greatly missed by many who loved him.

Rusty was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Russell & Georgia Lee Francis Wright, and his brother, Charles Roberson (“Robbie”) Wright.

Left to cherish his memory are his nephew, Alex & Stacey Wright; his nieces, Angie & “R.J.” Davis and Alexis Wright & Ernie Smith; special cousins, Kim Wright, Laura Mullins and Rachel Mullins; the “Old Crows Coffee Crew”; and several cousins and special friends, too many to list.

A graveside service is planned for Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at 1:00 P.M. at Shiloh Cemetery with Pastor Duane Bailey officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made in Rusty’s honor directly to the funeral home to help offset funeral expenses. Those memorials can be sent to A. Vest & Sons Funeral Home, 2508 Walkers Creek Valley Rd., Pearisburg, VA 24134.
