Wright, Charlotte Burroughs

Charlotte Burroughs Wright was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and went to be with her Lord after a long battle with cancer and died in her sleep on June 10, 2014 at Pulaski Health & Rehab at the age of 74. She was a long-time resident of Pulaski. She was born on August 9, 1939 in St. Paul, VA to Ruby Jane Salyers and Charlie Meade and moved to Pulaski when she was in elementary school.
She is survived by her husband of 23 years, Frederick Wright; two sons, Thomas Allen Burroughs and his wife Cindy and grandson John Thomas of Keller TX, and Roger Lee Burroughs and his fiancé Christine Hodge of Dublin, and two granddaughters Amanda and Jessica; her former husband, John Robert Burroughs and his wife Lucy of Bonneville, KY; three stepchildren; her mother Ruby; two sisters; her brother Billy Meade and his wife Margaret; special cousins, Jackie Westmoreland and her husband Ronnie, and Gene Self and wife Jenny; two very special friends, Debbie Cook and Almeta Jones; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father and twin sisters.

She was a member of Gethsemane Baptist Church in Radford. She loved Brother Russell Gordon and wife and Pastor Jerry Gibson and wife, as well as the members. She worked at MKG Enterprises (McDonalds) for 23 years. Charlotte always wanted the best for her family. She loved to make quilt tops, read quilting books, a good game of Aggravation, garage sales and chocolate ice cream. She was a wonderful cook and her deviled eggs, prune cake and macaroni salad are favorites of her family.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm at Gethsemane Baptist Church in Radford on Friday, June 13, 2014 with Pastor Jerry Gibson officiating. Interment will follow in Highland Memory Gardens in Dublin. The family will receive friends from 12:00-2:00 pm prior to the service.
