Wright, Betty Woodyard

Betty Woodyard Wright, age 81, of Christiansburg died, Monday, February 24, 2014, at Salem Health and Rehab Center. She was born in Giles County, Va. on January 28, 1933 to the late Joseph Reed and Bertie May Harell Woodyard. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Simon F. Wright, brother, Tommy Woodyard.

She was a member of Good Sheppard Baptist Church, Christiansburg where she was active with the Senior Saints.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca and Marvin Huff, of Christiansburg, son and daughter-in-law, Simon “Frank”, Jr. and Terri Wright, of Christiansburg, sisters and brothers-in-law, Opal Crawford, of Pulaski, Maggie Dillow, Peterstown, WV., Lorraine Woodyard, of Delaware, Mildred and Blackie Spangler, of Virginia Beach, Dorothy and James Byrd, Vista, CA., brother and sister-in-law, Arnold and Carolyn Woodyard, of Christiansburg, granddaughters, Vonda Dillon and Shana Biter, step-grandson, Lee Harless, great-grandchildren, Trey Dillon, Lacie Dillon, Nikki Roop and Ricky Roop.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, February 28, 2014 at 2:00pm in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. George Bulson and Rev. Matthew Kirkland officiating. Interment will follow in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Christiansburg. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00pm Thursday evening at the funeral home.
