Wright, Bessie Cook

Bessie Cook Wright, 79, of Pulaski, loving mother and wife, went to join her husband Clarence Wright, on May 5, 2014 at the Lewis Gale Hospital Pulaski. She was born March 20, 1935 in Pulaski and was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence; her parents, Howard M. and Agnes M. Cook; by her sisters, Shirley Ann Cook, Nancy J. Harris, Hazel C. Crawford; and by brothers, Harvey L. Cook and Lewis K. Cook.

Bessie retired from Jefferson Mills after many years of service. She was also an employee of Wades Food. She loved to work on ceramics and making porcelain dolls, which she had a lovely collection. Bessie enjoyed working out in the yard with her flowers until failing health prohibited her from that pleasure.

Surviving are daughters and sons-in-law, Teresa and Allen Coalson of Pulaski, Debra and James Gravley of Dublin; grandsons, Christopher Gravley of Florida, Michael Gravley of Virginia; furry friends, Baby, Harley and Molly; brothers, Howard M. Cook Jr. of Botetourt, Donnie Cook of Grahams Forge.

A Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday, May 7, 2014, at 7 p.m. from the Stevens Funeral Home Chapel with Jerry Lee Martin officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday evening at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until the service hour. A private graveside service will be held later. Friends and family may visit at the residence of the daughter and son-in-law, Teresa and Allen Coalson, 1428 Grove Dr., Pulaski, VA 24301.
