Jesse Elmer Worrell, 78, of Pulaski, Va., passed away on Wednesday, November 18, 2009, at the Pulaski Community Hospital. Born April 26, 1931, in Wythe County, he was the son of the late Jesse Elmer Worrell and Emma Lou Grimes Worrell Chrisley. His stepfather, John Henry Chrisley and sister; Mary Helen Asbury also preceded him in death.

He retired from Hercules with 30 years of service and was a volunteer for the Pulaski Fire Department for 38 years. He was a member of the Draper’s Valley Pentecostal Holiness Church.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Margie Friend Worrell, of Pulaski; daughters and son-in-law, Carolyn Worrell, of Pulaski, Connie and Joseph Raposo, of Daytona Beach, Fla., and Coretta Worrell, of Daytona Beach, Fla.; brothers, William “Bill” Chrisley, of Dublin, and Howard “Spud” Chrisley, of Max Meadows; sisters and brothers-in-law, Chris and Chuck Boles, of Harrisonburg, Va., Emily and Rick Ancik, of Suwanee, Ga., and Darlene and Jeff Davison, of Harrisonburg, Va.; brother and sister-in-law, Billy Joe and Arlene Friend, of Port Orange, Fla.; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 7 p.m. on Friday, November 20, 2009, at the Draper’s Valley Pentecostal Holiness Church with the Pastor Mike Ingo officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday evening before the service. Interment will be held 1 p.m. on Saturday, November 21, 2009, at the Draper’s Valley Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery.
