worrell amanda dAmanda Dawn Worrell, age 30 of Roanoke, and formerly of Pulaski, died unexpectedly Monday December 31, 2012 in Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. She was born on May 31, 1982, and was the daughter of Della Sue “Susie” Worrell. For those who knew Amanda, she was full of life, never met a stranger, and was always lending a helping hand to those in need. She was the Veterans Administrator for the Miller–Motte Technical Institute in Roanoke. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Glenn Albert Worrell, and Irene Hughett Worrell, and an uncle, Danny Lee Worrell. She is survived by her mother: Della Sue “Susie” Worrell of Pulaski, a brother; Jakob Ryan Welch of Pulaski, and her fiancé, Matthew Charles Holden of Roanoke. She is also survived by her aunts, Lucy Marie Dalton of Clinton, SC, Libby Worrell Wilson of Roanoke, uncles, Michael “Mike” Gene Worrell of Draper, and Donald Wayne Worrell of Durham, NC. She is also survived by many cousins, great aunts, and uncles, along with many wonderful and special friends. A celebration of her life will be held Saturday January 5, 2013 at 12 Noon at Seagle Funeral Home with the Rev. Randy Winn officiating. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until Noon at the funeral home prior to the service.
