Goldia Pauline Rutherford Worley, 80, of 1329 Grove Drive, Pulaski, passed away Saturday, April 19, 2008, at her home.

Born August 18, 1927, in Grassy Creek, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Walter Ray Rutherford Sr. and Fannie Mae Davis Rutherford. She was also preceded in death by their only son, Gregory Arnold Worley, in 1996; one sister, Virginia Castello; three brothers, Bill. H. Rutherford, Walter R. Rutherford and Marion S. Rutherford.

Goldia was a life long seamstress. For many years, she worked for Alex’s and Dana’s Clothing store, in Pulaski, where she was always considered part of their family. She was a 52 year faithful member of the Pulaski Church of God, Bob White Blvd., where she was a member of the Quilting Bee’s for 33 years and taught Sunday school and also assisted in the nursery.

Surviving are her devoted husband of 63 years, Theodore (Buster) Arnold Worley, Pulaski; grandsons, Eric D. and wife, Mandy Worley, Dublin, Kevin G. Worley and T. Larry Worley, Dublin; granddaughter, Kimberly Worley, Dublin; two great-grandsons, Carter Eric Worley and Carson Grimes Worley; two sisters, Aretta R. Barker, Grassy Creek, N.C., Shirley R. Neaves, Grassy Creek, N.C.; daughter-in-law, Bonnita Warden Worley, Dublin; sisters-in-law, Catherine Richard, Phoenix, Ariz., Martha W. Norris, Boone, N.C., Betty W. Southern, Dublin, Va., Iona Rutherford, Grassy Creek, N.C.; two brothers-in-law, Coolidge Spencer Harrison, Statesville, N.C., William “Bill” Foster and wife, Ann, Lancaster, Pa.; 15 nieces; eight nephews; and many, many friends.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, 2 p.m. at Pulaski Church of God, Bob White Blvd., with Pastor James Weaver and Pastor Jerry Collins officiating. Interment will follow in the Old Dublin Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from noon until 2 p.m. at the Pulaski Church of God.
