Woodyard, Nancy ‘Jean’

Nancy ‘Jean’ Woodyard passed away on Monday, August 22, 2016. She was born in Pearisburg, VA, on May 31, 1939. She lived most of her life in Christiansburg, VA.

Jean was a Christian who loved her family and friends and treated everyone she met with kindness and respect. She enjoyed homemaking, reading, flowers, and dogs!

Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Warren S. and Edna Grey Nowlin; and brother, Spencer Nowlin. She is survived by her husband, ‘Bucky’ Woodyard; son, Craig Nowlin Woodyard and wife Grace Kellogg Woodyard; daughter, Sydney Dawn Freese and husband, Timothy E. Freese; grandchildren, Erika Jean Williams, Harrison Russel Freese, Tyler Stanley Freese; great-grandchildren, Colton and Mason Freese, Hannah Williams; niece and nephew, Heather and Bryant Nowlin; and sister-in-law, Sheila Woodyard.

The family extends their deep appreciation to the caring staff of Carilion Hospice and the Home Instead caregiver agency.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 27, 2016, from 10-11 a.m. at St. Paul United Methodist Church. The Memorial Service will follow at 11 a.m., with Rev. Paul Song officiating.
