Mary Elizabeth Riddle Woodyard, 79, of Dublin, VA, passed away Sunday, April 10, 2022 at her home. She was born November 2, 1942 in Giles County, VA, the daughter of Lewis & Hattie Stephens Riddle.

Mary was a member of the Little Creek Tabernacle Apostolic Church. She was remembered as an excellent cook and was known for her homemade spaghetti sauce and homemade carrot cakes. She enjoyed gardening and was especially proud of her pecan trees. She enjoyed rides to the mountain and spending time sitting under the shed with her beloved husband, Carl. She loved her family and will be greatly missed by those who loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lewis Franklin & Hattie Elizabeth Stephens Riddle, her husband, Carl Chester Woodyard, Sr., her daughter, Norma Woodyard Gravely, her brother Ernest “Punch” Riddle and her sister, Shelby “Peg” Goble.

Left to cherish her memory are her son & daughter-in-law, Chester & Trish Woodyard; her grandchildren, who she loved greatly, Jay & Patsy Gravely and Holly Woodyard; her great-grandsons, Jacob, Joe & Thomas; her brothers & sister-in-law, Lewis & Sally Riddle, Jimmy Riddle, Arnold Riddle, and Ronnie Riddle; and her sisters & brothers-in-law, Eva & Albert (“Feller”) Woodyard, Brenda & Larry Woodyard and Lois Morris; her brother-in-law, David Allen Woodyard and her sister-in-law, Charlene Woodyard.

A graveside service is planned for Wednesday, April 13, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. at the Hunter’s Cemetery with Rev. Tommy Ramsey and Craig Strain officiating.
