Woody, Danny Lee

Danny Lee Woody, 69 of Christiansburg, a proud army veteran of the Vietnam War, gained his angel wings on Friday, February 25, 2022. He lived in Christiansburg most of his life and was a carpenter by trade. He loved going to the beach, fishing, and attending the drag racing at Bristol every year. Danny had a great sense of humor. He was an awesome cook and a great friend to many.

Danny was preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Louise Woody, brother, Kirt Woody, and nephew, Chris Woody. He leaves to cherish his memory, his brother Roger Woody and wife Jean: sister, Gail Moles and husband Gene: and sister-in-law Diane Woody. Nieces and nephews, Erik Woody and wife Brenda: Crystal Wilson and husband, Mike: Travis Moles and wife Jenny. Great nieces and nephews, Chrissy Derkay and husband Brian, Derrick Woody and wife Cassie, Kaytlin Wilson, Jacob Moles, Madelyn Moles, Michael Wilson, Morgan Derkay, Kaylee Derkay, Skylar Derkay, and Berkley Woody.

Special thanks to Radford Carilion Hospice doctors, nurses, and staff for their care and compassion, and special thanks to Danny’s roommates, Mark and Sandy, who cared for him between hospital stays.

At his request there will be no visitation and no services. A private family celebration will be held in his honor at a later date.
