Wood, Ruby Ellen Hickson

Ruby Hixon Wood, went to be with her Lord on Sunday, February 14, 2010, at her home in Christiansburg, Va. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Harrison and Mackie Moore Hixon. She was also preceded in death by five sisters, Dorothy Harvey, Helen Sutherland, Hazel Taylor, Lucille Bateman and Barbara Thompson; two brothers, Junior Hixon and Sam Hixon. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Clinton Slusher, of Christiansburg, Va.; two grandsons, Wesley Slusher and wife, Terri and Darrin Slusher, of Christiansburg, Va. She had three greatgrandchildren, Caitlin Slusher, Ashlee Slusher, and Mason Slusher, of Christiansburg, Va. She had a special friend, Lora Slusher. She was a member of the Christiansburg Baptist Church. A funeral service will be conducted at Horne Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 17, 2010, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Aaron Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, family requests donations be sent to Christiansburg Baptist Church, 2895 Roanoke St. S.E., Christiansburg, Va.
