Wood, Linda Helms

Linda Helms Wood, age 75, of Blacksburg died, Tuesday, January 17, 2017, at Lewis Gale Hospital-Montgomery.

She was born in Montgomery County, VA on December 19, 1941 to the late James Nelson and Maxie Helms Martin. Also preceded in death by her her daughter, Connie Helms, and her son Benjamin “Benjy” Wood. She is survived by her beloved grandson and reason for living, Dillon Lee Wood of Christiansburg and brothers and sister in law, Terry Martin of Blacksburg and Roger Martin and wife Cindy of Salem; nieces Kim Martin, Stephanie Butler and husband Ray; great nephews, Ryan and Drew Butler; great niece, Cara Butler, of Salem.

The family would like to thank Dr. Tuono along with the nursing staff at Lewis Gale Hospital Montgomery and especially her nurse Claire, nursing staff at Gentiva Home Health Care, and Dr. Maggie Belton for the years of care.

At Linda’s request there will be no services.
