Wood, Joe T.

Joe T. Wood, 82, of Shawsville,passed away Wednesday, August 27, 2014. He is preceded in death by his infant son; his parents, Edna Irene Estes and Edward Delano Wood; his brothers, Jack, Ted and Don; and his sister, Margie.

He is survived by his sister, EvelynMarie Mains of Galena Park, Texas; a special cousin, Mollie Mericle of Virginia Beach, Va; his daughters and son-in-laws, Jo Ann and Dave Maul of Batesburg, S.C., Donna and Lazaro Ramos of Willard, N.C., Lynn and Kevin Cressell of Shawsville, and Rhonda Wood of Shawsville; his grandchildren, Victor T. Jones, Hayley and Hannah Cressell. Funeral services will be held at DeVilbiss Funeral Home Chapel in Radford, beginning 2 p.m. directly followed by a graveside service at the Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery, Dublin with the Rev. Wallace Yopp officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent in his honor to Good Samaritan Hospice (2408 Electric Rd, Roanoke, VA 24018), Christiansburg, Va. DeVilbiss Funeral Home in Radford, VA is in charge of arrangements.
