Wood, Arthur Lee

Arthur Lee Wood, of Elliston, Va.,, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 9, 2010. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Thomas and Ora Yopp Wood. He had worked for Sisson and Ryan for 41 years. He is survived by his wife, Edna Wood; his daughters and son-in-law, Lisa and Jeffrey Poff, of Floyd, Va., and Kristin Wood, of Fairfax, Va.; two grandchildren, Taylor “Porky” and Issac “Lee”; brother, Gene Wood, of Elliston, Va.; sisters and brother-in-law, Barbara and Hobert Mills, of Shawsville, Va., Lilly Blankenship, of Pembroke, Va., and Mattie McGuyer, of Christiansburg, Va.; and his Pastor and special friend, Jerry Shepherd. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday, September 11, 2010, at the Horne Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will be held 2 p.m. on Sunday, September 12, 2010, at the Horne Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jerry Shepherd and Pastor Theo VanBlerk officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Christiansburg, Va. The family wishes to thank Dr. McCoy and his staff and a special thanks to Amy.
