Womack, Roger Dale

Roger Dale Womack, age 61, of Christiansburg, gained his wings on June 30, 2019 at his home surrounded by his family, friends, man’s best friend (his dog, Otis), along with his special aunt and caretaker, Gale Gibson, who was by his side almost daily during his battle with cancer.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Elsie Larue Womack; father, Weldon Clyde Womack; brother, Ronald Womack.

He is survived by his mother, Emma J. Womack; son, Eugene Womack and wife, Samantha; adopted son, Gratton Womack; step-daughter, Jessica; brother, Darrell Womack and wife, Gina; as well as many nieces, nephews and family friends; special friends, Danny Booth and Doug Keith. Roger was a man of many talents and will be greatly missed. He loved to make old things new again, from dirt, metal, and wood, he was a master craftsman.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, July 3, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Keith Graves and Pastor Wallace Yopp officiating. Interment will follow at North Fork Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, July 2, 2019 at McCoy Funeral Home, Blacksburg.
