Richard Crockett Wolfe, 95, of Pulaski, passed away Saturday morning May 31, 2008, in the Pulaski Community Hospital. Born in Wythe County August 19, 1912, he was the son of the late Robert and Delia Kegley Wolfe. Richard was also preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers.

He was a United States Army veteran of World War II and was retired from the Radford Army Ammunitions Plant. Richard was a faithful member of the First Christian Church Disciples of Christ where he served as Deacon and Elder and was named Elder Emeritus. He was a former teacher of the Men’s Sunday School Class and member of the adult choir.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Lola Staples Wolfe; son and daughter-in-law, Barry and Suella Wolfe, Christiansburg; granddaughter and husband, Melody and Sean Thomas, Somerville, Mass.; greatgranddaughter, Fiona Thomas, Somerville, Mass.; nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 3, 2008, at 11 a.m. from the First Christian Church, Jefferson Ave., Pulaski, with the Rev. Randy Winn officiating. Burial will follow in the Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin.

Visiting will be after 4 p.m. Monday from Stevens Funeral Home with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes memorials be made to the First Christian Church, DOC, at 524 N. Jefferson Ave., Pulaski, Va. 24301.
