Wolfe, Evelyn Rose

Evelyn Rose Wolfe, 89, of Christiansburg, and formerly of Bastian, died, Thursday, September 11, 2014, at Heritage Hall Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Blacksburg. Born November 15, 1924, in Dungannon, she was a daughter of the late Worley Tomlinson and Lucretia Williams Tomlinson.

Mrs. Wolfe was a homemaker and a member of Clearfork Baptist Church for most of her life. While she lived in Christiansburg, she attended Faith Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl David Wolfe, Sr.; one daughter; five brothers; four sisters; one grandson; and two great-grandchildren. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Barbara Cumbee and husband, Charles Richard of Pilot, Sandra Lowery and husband, Steve of Clinton, TENN, Dennis Larry Wolfe and wife, Carol of Dublin, Sue Ellen Pruitt and husband, Clifton of Jacksonville, N.C., Carl David Wolfe, Jr. and wife, Elizabeth of Dublin, and Janice Andrews of Bluefield, W.Va.; 19 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. on Monday September 15, 2014, from the Mercer Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Tom McCue and Minister Dan Webb officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton, W.Va, where grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Sunday September 14, 2014, from 6 until 8 p.m. at Mercer Funeral Home.
