Wirt, Sue Dowdy

Elizabeth Sue Dowdy Wirt, 63, of Christiansburg, finished her earthly race and is now at rest awaiting the return of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Irvin Dowdy and Bertha Cook Dowdy, her sisters, Bertha Jones, Brenda Dowdy, Patsy Reed and Gail Noonan.

She is survived by her husband of 44 years, James Wirt, her children, Jason, Jarrett, and Jessica Wirt; grandchildren, Jimmy Mullins, Hannah, Christian, Angel, Autumn and Isabella Wirt, brothers, June and Donnie Dowdy, many special nieces and nephews, and other extended family and friends.

Sue was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She gave freely of her love, time and resources to her family, friends and strangers in need. Sue would often sacrifice her own comfort and well being for that of others. She had a very special affection for her grandchildren who brought her tremendous joy. She also found much happiness in the many fur-babies she loved throughout the years. Sue was a special soul who impacted many lives and will be greatly missed by all of those she touched.

Funeral Services will be conducted Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at 1:00 pm in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends from 11:00-1:00pm prior to service at the McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Dr. SW, Blacksburg.
