Pauline McGuire Wirt, of Christiansburg, Va., passed away on April 5, 2007 at Heritage Hall Health Care Facility in Blacksburg, Va.

She was born in Rogers, Va. to the late Lacy P. and Alice Wayne McGuire. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd H. Wirt; daughter, Christine W. Graham; brothers, Arnold, Roy, and Harry McGuire; sisters, Myrtle Howery and Claudine Hodge; son-in-law, Dr. Charles Boatwright; numerous sisters-in-law, and brothers-in-law.

She is survived by a son and his wife, Ronald H. and Gaye Wirt, of New Castle; daughter, Bonnie W. Boatwright, of Christiansburg; grandchildren and spouses, Ronald H., Jr. and Ann Wirt, of Gloucester, Va., Donald L. and Gina Wirt, of Martinsville, Va., Kathy G. and Fred Leno, of Jupiter, Fla., Kim R. Graham, of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., Tracie G. and Kent Jimenez, of Richardson, Texas; great-grandchilren, Zachary Wirt, in Baghdad, Iraq, and his wife, Amanda, Jacob Wirt, of Martinsville, Va., Nathan Wirt, of Gloucester, Va., Freddie Leno, of Jupiter, Fla.; son-in-law, Ted D. Graham, of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.; previous son-in-law, Harold Gray, of Blacksburg; previous daughter-in-law, Jane H. Wirt, of Fieldale, Va.; brother, Kyle McGuire, of Christiansburg; sister, Elsie Evans, of Beckley, W.Va., Melva Hixon, of Blacksburg; special niece, Jean Thompson, of Roanoke, Va.; numerous other nieces and nephews. She was blessed to have a very special and devoted friend, Cecil Boothe, of Blacksburg.

Pauline retired from the Imperial Reading Overall Plant where she was an inspector. Hence, she looked over and checked out everyone and everything that came her way. She was a hard-working, Christian lady who was the pillar of her family. She will be greatly missed by her many family members and friends.

We sincerely thank the staff of Heritage Hall and Montgomery Regional Hospital, and a big thank you to Dr. Troy Thompson and Dr. Mike Payne.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, April 8, 2007 at 2 p.m. in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Bill Frazier officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, of Christiansburg. Flowers will be appreciated or donations may be sent to Christiansburg Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 176, Christiansburg, Va. 24068. Friends may call anytime after noon on Saturday, and the family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. on Saturday at McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Drive, SW, Blacksburg.
