Wirt, James Edward
James Edward Wirt, 87, of Christiansburg, died Wednesday, September 30, 2015, at Heritage Hall. He was born in Montgomery County, Va. on February 24, 1928 to the late Arthur and Ocie Mae Spradlin Wirt.
He was also preceded in death by his wife, Ella Lois Miller Wirt; sister, Beatrice Wirt Smith; and brother, Richard Wirt.
He is survived by his children Michael Wirt and wife, Carolyn, of Romulus, Mich., Rhonda Merrill and husband, Vernon, of Taylor, Mich., and William Wirt and wife, Amy, of Christiansburg, Va.; grandchildren, Brent Conn and his wife, Samantha, Katarina Wirt, Chloe Wirt, and Courtney Gurtowsky; and great-grandchildren, Avree Jane Conn, and Cordelia and Cordel Trost.
Services will be held privately. Arrangements by McCoy Funeral Home, Blacksburg, VA.
