amem_autumn.jpgMary Ellen (Dee) Winn, 79, of Christiansburg, Va., concluded her courageous fight with cancer in the early morning of Friday, September 4, 2009. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Pendleton Scaggs and Elia Crumpacker Scaggs: her sister, Jean Scaggs Peacock; and her brother, Samuel Bruce Scaggs.

She is survived by her loving husband and best friend, Joe M. Winn; her brother and sister-in-law, Charles Emory Scaggs and Marie Epperly Scaggs, of Christiansburg; her sister and brother-in-law, Lake Williamson Tidwell and husband, Clyde Tidwell, of Artesia, N.M.; her sister-in-laws, Marion Scaggs, of Venice, Fla., Margaret Winn Kellam, of Martinsville, Mary Winn Shipe, of Salem, and Ruth Winn Blackard, of Roanoke; and numerous nephews and nieces.

Dee made many friends during her lifetime and many of those were through her long and dedicated career with A T & T.

Visitation will be held 15 minutes prior to service. A celebration of Dee’s life will be held 2 p.m. at Roselawn Mausoleum on Sunday, September 6, 2009.

In lieu of flowers, Dee’s request was to donate to the American Cancer Society or the charity of your choice.
