In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband Edd Winesett; daughter Elizabeth Rakes; brother Omar Smythers; and sisters Ava Fender and Delphia Newman. Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law Gerald and Naomi Winesett of Whiteford, MD, Eldon and Linda Winesett, Neal and Norma Winesett, and Boyd Winesett all of Woodlawn; daughters and sons-in-law Jane and Johnny Jones of Max Meadows and Marcia and Bob Wilmoth of Street, MD; son-in-law Delmer Rakes of Woodlawn; brother William Smythers of Austinville; sister-in-law Lennes Smythers of Mount Airy, NC; brother-in-law BG Winesett of Woodlawn; twelve grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; and seven great-great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 9, 2011 at 11:00 AM at Woodlawn Church of God with Rev. John Briggs officiating. Burial will follow in the Pickett Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Tuesday, November 8, 2011 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
