Wilson, Truman Eugene

Truman Eugene Wilson, 93, of Christiansburg, Va., died on Wednesday, January 27, 2010, at New River Valley Medical Center. He was born in Montgomery County, Va., on September 6, 1916, to the late George Thomas and Louella Sheppard Wilson. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Viola DeHart Wilson, on December 20, 2009. Truman was married on December 8, 1939, to his soul mate, Viola, and it spanned for 70 years. He was a member of Alleghany Church of Christ. He is survived by his special friends and caregivers, Brenda Flora, of Christiansburg, Billy and Susan Duncan, of Christiansburg, Tammy Duncan, of Riner, and Roger Saville, of Blacksburg; three sisters-in-law, Jonell Johnston DeHart, of Blacksburg, Margaret Shortridge DeHart, of Christiansburg, and June Amburgey DeHart, of McCoy; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. on Friday, January 29, 2010, in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Porter Riner officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Cemetery, Christiansburg. The family will receive friends on Friday from 10 a.m. until service time at McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Drive, SW, Blacksburg, Va.
