Wilson, Sarah Owens

Sarah Kathleen Wilson, age 77, passed away on Monday, March 6, 2023, at the Carilion Giles Community Hospital in Pearisburg, VA. Born January 26, 1946, in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Dayton and Alberta May Schellenger Owens.

Sarah was a member of the Indian Mills Baptist Church. She was involved in the Monroe County Youth Soccer League and was a former volunteer at Peterstown Elementary School. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert “Bob” Wilson; sister, Eileen Mick; and brother, Thomas Owens. Survivors include one son, Robbie Wilson and wife April of Dublin, VA; two daughters, Carol Holman and husband James of Ballard, WV, and Jennifer Wilson and special friend Etta Huss of Roanoke, VA; five grandchildren, Thomas Wilson, Caitlin Persinger and husband Jeremy, Mackenzie Ladner, Derrick Holman, and Chloe Holman; one great grandchild, Oliver Evseichik; and one sister, Barbara Frizzle of Somerdale, NJ.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00PM on Saturday, March 11, 2023, at the Indian Mills Cemetery in Indian Mills, WV, with Rev. Steve Howdock officiating. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery by 1:45PM.
