Wilson, Raymond Henry

Raymond Henry Wilson, 86, of Pearisburg, and formerly of Poplar Hill, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 12, 2011 with his beloved wife by his side at his home. He was born October 20, 1925 at Tazewell County, VA the son of the late Frank and Bessie Durham Wilson.

He was a member of Wabash Lodge #189 I.O.O.F., Giles American Legion Post #68, an Army veteran of World War II serving in France and Germany and attended Pearisburg Christ Fellowship Church.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Louise Sands Wilson; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Mildred (Buzz) Richardson, Bland; Pearl Hylton, Princeton, WV; Ruby (Don) Ayers, Abingdon; Thelma Owens, Bristol; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, November 15, 2011 at 2 p.m. at A. Vest & Sons Funeral Home, White Gate with the Pastor Greg Cox officiating. Burial in Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery, Dublin with military rites. The visitation will be Monday after 2 p.m. at the funeral home and the family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. with a Wabash Lodge #189 Odd Fellows service at 7 p.m.
