Wilson, Jean L.

Jean L. Wilson age 79 of Galax, Virginia passed away Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at her home. Mrs. Wilson was born in Grayson County, Virginia on October 14, 1934 to Curtis Clarence and Imo Jean Bedsaul Lowe. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Richard P. (Dick) Wilson and a brother James Curtis Lowe.

She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law Ronald D.and Wanda Spurlin; Richard P. Wilson, Jr. all of Galax, Virginia; Stephen C. and Nancy Spurlin of Woodlawn, Virginia; grandchildren and spouses Heather and Dan Havel; David and Jenny Hampton; four great-grandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-law Frances and Bill Hager of Roanoke, Virginia; Patricia and Ronald Hackler of King, North Carolina; sister-in-law Anne Lowe of Troutville, Virginia; brother-in-law and wife Robert and Kathryn Wilson of Galax, Virginia; several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, May 24, 2014 at 3:00 PM in the Gladeville United Methodist Church with the Rev. John Grimm officiating. Burial will follow in the Gladeville United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 1:00 PM until time for the funeral service at the Gladeville United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the Mt. Valley Hospice, 1477 Carrollton Pike, Hillsville, Virginia 24343.
