Cheryl Lynn Tickle Wilson, 51, loving wife, daughter, and sister, of Pulaski, Va., was called to the Lord on Thursday, September 10, 2009, in the Carilion NRV Medical Center, Radford. Cheryl fought a battle with cancer that taught those around her the meaning of courage, grace and dignity.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Brown Tickle; her paternal grandparents, Luther and Ethel Tickle; and her maternal grandfather, Herman Brown.

Cheryl touched many lives in her 32 years of service at the Pulaski Department of Social Services and made many life-long friends there as well as others who had the privilege of knowing her.

Surviving are her husband, Jonah (Jake) Wilson; father, Kenneth H. Tickle and his wife, Barbara; and her daughters, Connie Ratcliff and LuAnn Hamrick; maternal grandmother, Rachel M. Brown; brothers, Kenneth H. Tickle, and Steven D. Tickle and his wife, Rosanne; numerous uncles, aunts, and cousins; and her pets, Ruby and Jasper.

Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. on Monday, September 14, 2009, from Stevens Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Robert Lorton officiating. Burial will follow in the Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin. The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 13, 2009, from 2 until 4 p.m. from the funeral home.
