June 7, 1946 – January 21, 2017 Charles Linwood Wilson, 70, of Check, departed his earthly life and entered into the Loving arms of God on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at Lewis Gale Medical Center after a long illness.

Charles was a barber for eight years in Floyd, he worked for N & W for 15 years, and owned and operated the Check country store for 12 years and worked at Lab Corp. for 9 ½ years.

Born in Check, Va. June 7, 1946, he is preceded in death by his parents, Charles E. “Charlie” and Evie Board Wilson; brother, Melvin Edward Wilson. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Carolyn Moran Wilson; sons, Charles Linwood Jr. of Floyd, and James Edward and daughter-in-law, Karen P. Wilson, of Check.

Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at Maberry Funeral Home with Pastor Hebron Quesenberry and Pastor Mike Varner officiating with interment to follow at Restvale Cemetery, Copper Hill, Va.

Family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. on Monday, January 23, 2017 and from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at Maberry Funeral Home.

A special thanks to Dr. Nelson Greene and his nurse Rhonda for the wonderful, compassionate care over the years and allowing him to be able to stay at home as much as possible, thanks for the care given on 3 west and especially the wonderful care given on 5 west especially Kim Putman at Lewis Gale Medical Center. A special thanks to Janice Conner, Brenda Huff and Anna Hale for staying at the hospital for his wife.
