Wilson, Avery Lee

Avery Lee Wilson, 77, of Fairlawn, passed away Wednesday, November 6, 2013. He was a member of the Dublin Church of God and previously worked at RAAP and Lynchburg Foundry. For 31 years Avery could be heard every Sunday morning at 8:30 am on WBLB radio with his program “Gospel Time”. He was preceded in death by his parents, George E. and Margie Lee Lockhart Wilson, infant daughter, Sherry Elaine Wilson, brothers, George Emmett Wilson, Jr., and Clyde Eugene Wilson, and sister, Vergie Lee Shunk. Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Shirley Parsons Wilson of Fairlawn; daughter, Kim Wilson of Fairlawn; son, Jake Wilson of Pulaski; and brother and sister-in-law, Maynard Franklin and Margaret Wilson of Louisa County. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 9, 2013 at 1:00 pm at the Dublin Church of God with Pastor Michael Collins officiating. Interment will follow in Highland Memory Gardens in Dublin. The family will receive friends from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm prior to the service at the church.
