Ramona Lynn (Mona) Whitt Willis born April 9, 1955.  She peacefully passed away at the Lewis Gale Pulaski Hospital  on November 20, 2020.

Ramona was predeceased by her father James R “Bob” Whitt, her son-in-law Mitch DeCosta, her mother and father-in-law Burman “Fatty” and Gladys Willis, a nephew Brandon Friend and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Surviving Mona are:

Husband:   Stacy Willis of Newbern, Va

Daughter:   Missy Decosta of Dublin Va

Son:   Douglas (Andy) Willis of Newbern Va.

Grandchildren:   Tori Stayrook and Piper Decosta of Dublin Va and Brandon Willis of Newbern Va

Mother:  Pearl Whitt of Newbern Va

Brother and sister in law:  James R Jr “Jim” and Tammy Whitt of Newbern Va

Sister and brother in law:  Lisa and Cardy Friend of Newbern Va

Many Caudill and Whitt Aunts, Uncles and cousins

Mona graduated from Ansted High School in Ansted, WV in 1973, and married her husband Stacy that same year.

She went to work for W&H Construction Company in Oak Hill WV where her dad was a road construction superintendent.  She worked at several clinics and hospitals after earning her MLT from the VA Hospital in Beckley WV before moving back to Newbern to be close to her family.

Upon moving back home, Ramona went to work for Lewis Gale Community Hospital in Pulaski as a Medical Lab Technician.  She worked at the hospital and other local clinics in the area until her health made it impossible to continue.

Her life was blessed by her love for her children and grandchildren, whom she would do anything for.  She kept all the kids, Tori, Brandon (Bubba) and Piper as much as she could.  She loved to take them places and generally spoil them rotten.

Ramona will be greatly missed by all her knew her.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to The American Diabetes Association, or The American Heart Association in Ramona’s name.

Interment will be at 1pm Tuesday November 24, 2020 at the Friend’s and Family Cemetery on Alum Spring Road in Pulaski.
