williamson_kenneth_carltonKenneth Carlton (K.C.) Williamson, 86, of Blacksburg, Va., died Wednesday, April 14, 2010, at Montgomery Regional Hospital. He was born in Meadowview, Va., on September 5, 1923, to the late Marvin L. and Sallie Wright Williamson. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Woodrow Williamson and Henry C. Williamson, both of Meadowview, Va. Among Mr. Williamson’s many achievements, he was awarded the Virginia Cattleman of the Year, National Association of County Agriculture Agent Distinguished Service award, American Society of Animal Science Extension award, The Virginia Tech Alumni Award of Excellence, Virginia BCIA Superior Service Award, Virginia Tech Block and Bridle Club Honor Award and named Fellow in the American Society of Animal Science. He is survived by his wife, Pauline B. Williamson, of Blacksburg; a daughter, Margaret Williamson, of Rock Hill, S.C.; a son, Chris Williamson, of Chester, Va.; two grandchildren, Jason Williamson, of Mechanicsville, Va., Brandon Williamson, of Ashland, Va.; a sister, Ruth Williamson, of Kingsport, Tenn.; a sister-in-law, Marion Bemis, of Blacksburg. Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 17, 2010, at 1 p.m. in the Blacksburg United Methodist Church with the Rev. Reggie Tuck officiating. Interment will follow in Westview Cemetery, Blacksburg. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Blacksburg United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 931, Blacksburg, Va. 24063. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Friday evening at McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Drive, SW, Blacksburg.
