Williams, Virginia Belle

Virginia Belle Williams, 84, of Pembroke, Va., departed this life Sunday afternoon, March 28, 2010, at Riverview Nursing Home after a long illness. Born in Pembroke on November 9, 1925, she was a daughter of the late Hayden W. and Ethel Martin Williams.

She was a member of the Pembroke Christian Church, worked for many years in the insurance office at Celanese, and helped her husband, the late Marvin F. Williams, operate the family business, Marvin’s Grocery.

She was preceded in death by her brothers James O. Williams and H W Williams Jr.

She leaves to cherish her memory her two special nieces and caregivers, Kelli Williams, of Ripplemead and Tammi Johnston, of Pembroke and other beloved nephews, Edgar Williams, of Pearisburg and Danny Williams, of Beaufort, S.C. and niece, Libby Dale Jennings, of Beaufort, S.C.; several great-nieces and nephews; and her sister-in-law, Georgia Williams and her son, Ronnie.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the Kendall Funeral Home, 605 Snidow St., Pembroke with burial following in Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg.
