Trudy Johnson Williams, 90, of Blacksburg, died on Saturday, May 7, 2011, at her home. She was born in Indianapolis, Ind., on August 19, 1920, to the late Lloyd and Hazel Grace Smith Johnson. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Lester S. Bell; a son, Marcus C. Bell; and a sister, Ruth Kenninger.

She was a member of the Eastern Star in Alexandria, Va. She was also a member of Luther Memorial Lutheran Church and Blacksburg Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, George R. Williams; son, Kevin Bell, of Arlington, Va.; daughter and son-in-law, Roxanne and Jon Burhans, of Christiansburg; daughter-inlaw, Elinor Bell, of Blacksburg; three grandchildren, Ira Bell, Isaac Carey, and Miles Carey; three stepdaughters and sons-in-law, Melinda Carper, of Atlanta, Ga., Pam and Daniel Carper, of Blacksburg, and Amanda and Bill Price, of Blacksburg; one stepson and daughter-in-law, George Jr. and Diane Williams, of Winchester, Va.; nine step grandchildren; and seven stepgreat-grandchildren.

A Graveside Memorial Service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 21, 2011, in the Westview Cemetery, Blacksburg with Dr. Tommy McDearis and Dr. Don McKinney officiating.
