williams thomas edwardThomas Edward Williams, 66, of Sinking Creek Road, Pembroke, departed this life Tuesday morning, April 9, 2013, at Giles Community Hospital in Pearisburg after a long illness. Born in Giles County on November 4, 1946, he was a son of the late Isaac Edward and Laura Ann Elizabeth Williams of Hoges Chapel. Thomas was a gifted musician, a veteran of the United States Army, Viet Nam Era, and had been employed as a stone mason. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Patricia Robertson; and his brothers, Richard Allen Williams and Gene Williams. He leaves to cherish his memory his daughter, Tonya Williams, of Pembroke; his son, Paul Williams, of Craig County; his sisters, Mardell Hilton, of Blacksburg, Mary Helen Meredith, of Pembroke, Drucilla Huffman, of Pembroke, Barbara Gray, of Pembroke, Betty Lou Southern, of Pembroke, and Bonnie Sue Hobbs, of Pembroke; several nieces and nephews; and a very devoted friend Billy Joe Johnston. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Friday, April 12, 2013, in the Kendall Funeral Home, 605 Snidow St., Pembroke, with burial following in the Ed Williams Cemetery on Sinking Creek Road near Pembroke.
