Sherman Day “Buddy” Williams, 84 of Pembroke, VA departed this life to be with his Lord, Sunday, October 4, 2020 in the loving care of his family. Born in Hoges Store, VA on April 9, 1936, he was a son of the late George Kemper and Ersel Sykes Williams.

Buddy was a proud Corncutter and member of the Pembroke High School Class of 1954. He was a painter by trade, and a proud member of Riverview Baptist Church.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Jeanette Farrier Williams; a brother, Ralph Williams; sisters, Madeline Hall, Katherine Booth, Laura Alice Williams, and Helen Cuffel.

Left to cherish his memory are his sons, John Day Williams and his wife Leia of Radford, VA, and Joseph Howe Williams and his wife, Libby of Pembroke, Virginia; a daughter, Mary W. Rubas and her husband, Joe of Christiansburg, VA; 9 grandchildren, Dawn, Clara, Melody, Marissa, Josie, Katie, Mikey, Rebekah, and Andrew; 7 great-grandchildren, Bella, Xavier, Allison, Dominic, Gavin, Madlynn, and Eli; brothers, George Clinton Williams of Georgia, and Thurman Ray Williams (Sonny) of Woodbridge, VA; sister-in-law, Nancy Farrier; and many nieces and nephews.

There will be a funeral service held at Kendall Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 13, 2020 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Eddie Kendall officiating. A graveside service will follow in the Mount Lebanon/Southside Cemetery. Family will receive friends at Kendall Funeral Home on Monday, October 12, 2020 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Out of respect for the family, and in accordance with recommendations regarding Covid-19 from the Governor of Virginia, we ask that masks be worn for all services.
