John Henry Williams, 86, of 131 Dark Run Road Lot 95, Elliston, Virginia, 24087, formerly of Bluefield, passed away Friday, March 10, 2006 at his residence.

Mr. Williams was born on May 15, 1920 to the late Walter Williams and Grace Corvin Williams. He was a member of the Midway Church of Christ and a veteran of the U.S. Army during WWII. Mr. Williams was retired from the Feuchtenbiger and Betsey Ross Bakery in Bluefield, West Virginia.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Altheda Holt Williams and one daughter Joyce Roten.

Survivors include sons, Harry Williams and wife Kim of Elliston, Virginia and Eddie Williams and wife Betty of Abington, Virginia/Bluefield; daughters, Rita Bailey and husband Wallace of Bluefield, West Virginia; grandchildren he raised, Richie Roten of Elliston, Virginia and Anita Haley and husband Mike of Elliston, Virginia; brother, Carl Williams and wife Evelyn of Falls Mills, Virginia; sister, Lillian Williams of Bluefield, West Virginia; grandchildren, Justin Williams, Kristie Williams and Amy Sawyers.

Funeral services will be held Monday, March 13, 2006 at 1 p.m. at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home, Bluewell, West Virginia with the Ministers Tom Brown and Dan Webb officiating. Burial will follow at the Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Princeton, West Virginia.

Friends and family may call at the funeral home on Sunday, March 12, 2006 from 6 to 8 p.m. Serving as pallbearers will be Mr. Williams’s nephews. The Mercer County Veterans Council will be conducting Military graveside rite. Cravens-Shires Funeral Home, Bluewell, West Virginia is serving the Williams family.
