Williams, Hazel Irene

Hazel Irene Williams, 90, of Pearisburg, departed this life Saturday evening, March 13, 2010, at Carrington Place in Daleville. Born in Bluefield, W.Va., on May 12, 1919, she was a daughter of the late Gratton Wesley and Edith Pearis Hearn Burk. She was a devoted Christian, a member of Riverview Baptist Church in Ripplemead and was a retired retail clerk with Ched’s Department Store in Pearisburg. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dan Wagner Williams; a son, Gratton Williams; and a daughter, Edith Joyce Williams. She leaves to cherish her memory her son and daughter-in-law, Leslie and Jean Williams, of Troutville; her daughter and son-in-law, Ruth and Don Greenwood, of Roanoke; her grandchildren, Ursula and Sean Lee, Erich Stephens, Holly , Valerie, and Emily Williams, Brandon and Mary Susan Williams; her greatgrandchildren, Dalton and Wyatt Lee. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, March 17, 2010, at 11 a.m. in the Kendall Funeral Home, 605 Snidow St., Pembroke, with Pastor Shahn Wilburn officiating. Burial will follow in Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that contributions be made to Riverview Baptist Church Missions Program.
