williams_frances_rush.jpgFrances Marie Rush Williams, 73, of Christiansburg, Va., went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, October 2, 2009. She is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Rheba Rush; two sisters, Treva Miles and Louise Linkous.

Survivors include her husband, Fred L. Williams Jr.; two sons and daughter-in-laws, Fred L. Williams III and Sandra of Blountville, Tenn., J. Ben Williams and Cathy of Christiansburg, Va.; two grandsons, Lee Williams of Blountville, Tenn., and Jamie Williams of Christiansburg, Va.; one granddaughter and husband, Amanda and John Rowlette of Bristol, Tenn.; one great-granddaughter, Megan Rolette of Bristol, Tenn.; sisters and brother-in-laws, Ruby Lee Carner of Christiansburg, Va., Wilma and Bob Chafin of Greensboro, N.C., Doris Martin of Riner, Va., Ella Ruth Hutchins of Christiansburg, Va., Shirley and Bob Adkins; several nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and nephews.

Frances retired from the Bell Atlantic Telephone Company after 39 years of service. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers. Frances was a member of the Revived Rebekah Lodge #100 in Blacksburg, Va. where she served as Financial Treasurer and as a Past President. She was a member of the Blacksburg Odd Fellows Lodge #20 and served as Treasurer for them. Frances was also a member of the Rebekah Assembly of Virginia where she served as a Past President.

Friends may call anytime after 12 noon Monday, October 5, 2009 at the Horne Funeral Service where the family will receive friends from 5 until 8 p.m. Monday evening. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 6, 2009 in the Horne Funeral Chapel by the Rev. Dusty Etter with interment to follow in Sunset Cemetery.

Flowers will be appreciated, however those wishing to make memorial contributions are asked to consider the church or charity of your choice.
