williams_anna_givensAnna Lee Givens Williams, 89, of Pearisburg, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 19, 2011, at her home. Anna Lee was born in Pearisburg on October 24, 1921, and was a daughter of the late John Harvey Givens Sr. and Winnie Johnston Givens. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ferrell (Snag) Livingston Williams Sr.; a brother and sister-inlaw, Thomas Cale Givens and Betsy Knight Givens; and sisters and brothers-in-law, Mildred G. and Chapman I. Johnston Jr., Jean G. and Gordon K. Owen, and Helen Farrier Givens. Anna Lee was a telephone operator during the 1940s and was a former employee of Witten’s Clothing Store in Pearisburg. She was a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church in Pearisburg, the Ann S. Hoilman Sunday School Class. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Ferrell L. and Karen V. Williams Jr., of LaGrange, Ga.; three beloved grandchildren, Allyson, Laura, and Trey Williams, all of Georgia; one brother and sister-in-law, John H. and Gertrude (Perk) Givens Jr., of Pearisburg, Va.; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 22, 2011, in the chapel her father built at Givens Funeral Home, Pearisburg, with the Rev. G. Keith Owen II and Dr. Brad Scott officiating. Burial will follow in the Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg. The family will receive friends at the Givens Funeral Home in Pearisburg on Monday evening, March 21, 2011, from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the First United Church in Pearisburg, Va.
