Wilkinson, Buddy Edward

Buddy Edward Wilkinson, 72, of Narrows, Va., passed away Friday, April 17, 2009, at his home. He was born in Narrows on December 3, 1936, and was the son of the late Robert Loring (Jake) Wilkinson and Inez Mae Runions Wilkinson.

In addition to his mother and father, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of nearly 40 years, Lois Faye Dunford Wilkinson; and a brother, Jack E. Wilkinson. A 1956 graduate of Narrows High School, he served in the United States Army’s 82nd Airborne Division and retired from the International Union of Elevator Constructors Local 7 of Baltimore, Md.

He is survived by a daughter, Sidonia Wilkinson, of Bel Air, Md.; a son, Scott Wilkinson, of Perryville, Md.; three grandchildren, Randi Lynn Cramer, of Bel Air, Md., Madalyn Faye Wilkinson, Mason Scott Wilkinson, both of Perryville, Md.; a brother, Mariel Lee (M.L.) Wilkinson, of Pearisburg; a sister, Joyce Munsey, of Narrows; several relatives and many special friends.

Funeral services will be held Monday, April 20, 2009, at 1 p.m. in the Chapel of Riffe’s Funeral Service, in Narrows, with the Rev. Eddie Kendall officiating. Burial will follow in Birchlawn Burial Park, in Pearisburg, with Graveside Rites conducted by VFW Post #6000 of Narrows, American Legion Post #68 of Narrows, Post #311 of Pembroke and Post #145 of Peterstown.
