God finally marked through the last item on His “TO DO” list for Norweta Lucille Caldwell Wilburn on May 7, 2022 at 2am. in Kimballton VA. where she was born, lived her entire life, and had anxiously been waiting to join her beloved husband, Walker, since June 13, 2007.

She was the daughter of Clarence and Margaret Johnston Caldwell. She was the mother, and so proud of, Pastor (emeritus) Shahn Wilburn, Riverview Baptist Church, Ripplemead, VA, who survives, along with his wife Juanita, of beautiful “down-town Rye Hollow”. Her special niece, Connie Speckmeier (Terry) also survives. She was the ‘Other Mother’ to many youngins whom she loved and was kept well supplied with their love and many hugs over the years.

She was a member of Riverview Baptist Church, and was faithful in whatever job God had for her to do. She participated in the Choir, Women’s Fellowship, Prayer Line, Nursing Home Visitation, Fighters, Communications cards, Widows In Need ministry, CD Shut-In Ministry, Sunday School, Tag Day, and JCA Day. She retired from Flat Top Insurance Agency in 1990 after twenty-seven years. She also was employed by Celanese Corporation, Virginian-Leader, and Giles County School Board. She enjoyed her computer during her retirement years compiling “Little Verse Books” and her ‘heart-to-heart, self-designed cards which were used to share God’s Word with so many people.

The family will receive friends Wednesday May 11th at Riverview Baptist Church from 5 to 7 PM with the service to follow. Pastors Mike Mitchener, Shahn Wilburn and John Altizer will officiate. There will also be time for friends to share their favorite memories of Norweta and those whose lives were touched with God’s Word through her. The internment will be at 11:00 AM. the following day at Birchlawn Mausoleum 177 Birchlawn Cir. Pearisburg, Va.

A special ‘thank you’ to all of our church family, and her long-time friends everywhere, and especially all the ladies who provided wonderful care for her in her last years.
