Wilburn, Carolyn
Carolyn Wilburn, 74, of Mason Court, Pearisburg, departed this life for her heavenly home on Tuesday morning, May 31, 2011, in the peace and love of her own home and family. Born in Kannapolis, N.C., on January 11, 1937, she was a daughter of the late Clyde Britton and Elsie Coburn Green. She had been employed as a Nurses Aid at Montgomery Regional Hospital in Blacksburg and attended Riverview Baptist Church in Ripplemead. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ted Easley Wilburn; the father of her children and dear friend, John Rayburn Eaton; and her sister, Betty J. Hartsell. She leaves to cherish her memory her sons and daughters-inlaw, Gene and Ginny Eaton, of Stafford, and Jimmy Lee and Tammy Eaton, of Roanoke; her daughters and sons-inlaw, Cherron Eaton, of Pearisburg, Tammy Jo and Kevin Baker, of Troutville, Nikki and Don Dickens, of Richmond; her grandchildren, John, Alex, Ryan, Billy, Matthew, and Jessica Eaton, Christine and Erica Baker; her great-grandchildren, Abraham Dickens, Malakai Mooney, and Alexis Murphy; and her three special nieces of Concord, N.C., Brenda Bundy, Maxine Jacobs, and Nancy Sossamon and their families. Funeral Services will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Friday, June 3, 2011, in the Kendall Funeral Home, 605 Snidow St., Pembroke with Pastor Shahn Wilburn officiating. Burial will follow in Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to the Building Fund at Riverview Baptist Church in Ripplemead.
